Huge operation in Koog aan de Zaan: complete residential floors installed in one fell swoop

The first parts of the new prefab homes in Koog aan de Zaan have been placed. Under the watchful eye of the future residents, the first complete floor was hoisted to the right place last night. In total, thirteen ready-to-use homes will be placed on the Breedweer in just a few nights.

The ready-to-use residential modules arrive by large transport from Montfoort (province of Utrecht). In the fog, the driver of the first truck carefully navigates the narrow streets. It soon becomes clear that there are cars in the way. People forgot to warn local residents that it was not possible to park in certain places. Some car owners can still be called out of bed, but one car has to be towed away.

“Let’s see what will happen,” says a man who will move into one of the houses full of expectation. He puts down his champagne glass. He doesn’t care much about the delay: “I have no idea what time it is, but I took tomorrow morning off. I think it may take a while!”

Applause

With a delay of 2.5 hours, the first complete floor is lifted after all, lifted by an enormous crane. When he stands – even if it is half past two in the morning – applause can be heard from the future residents. Ultimately, there will be thirteen new prefab homes. They are gasless and will have solar panels on the roof. Delivery is scheduled for early next year.
