Huge improvement in the quality of Instagram photos – Only possible with these phones

Samsung announced its new S24 series phones on Wednesday. At the same time, it said it would expand its cooperation with Instagram and Snapchat, allowing them to use the phone’s camera more thoroughly than before.

What’s the joy of having a great phone camera if you can’t utilize its features in social media applications? Samsung has also considered the same.

The camera functions inside social apps have typically not matched the level or features of the phone’s own camera.

For example, Snapchat’s “camera” has traditionally only taken a screenshot of what the phone’s camera sees.

Understandably, this has a big impact on the end result, and the functions of the phone’s own camera have therefore not been able to be properly utilized when using the app’s internal camera.

Cooperation deepens

Samsung has cooperated with social media platforms before, allowing for example Instagram and Snapchat to access the phone’s own camera. With the new S24 series, more features have been added to the list of supported functions.

Samsung’s S24 series phones – S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra – now allow Instagram and Snapchat’s cameras to take advantage of the night photography feature when using the apps’ in-app camera. In addition, the image stabilizer is also used when shooting video.

Samsung boasts that its new models are the first phones on the market that can shoot HDR photos for Instagram. HDR has already been used on Instagram in videos.

HDR, which is an abbreviation of English words high dynamic range, means a wide dynamic range. It allows the details of the lightest and darkest areas of the image to be recorded, so the end result is more similar to what the human eye can see.

Utilizing the function requires that Instagram can increase the brightness of the screen when viewing HDR content. The feature can be turned off in the Instagram settings.
