“Huge demand” for tickets for the European Championship

According to UEFA competition director Martin Kallen, the demand for tickets for the 2024 European Football Championship in Germany is “huge”.

The organizers also received millions of invalid inquiries in the first sales phase, which runs until October 26th.

“We have a problem that computer bots are working for the black market today, there are x millions coming in that we are trying to eliminate,” said Kallen, who spoke of a total of “over 100 million requests,” said on Friday during a round of discussions the Frankfurt Book Fair.

In the first phase, over 1.2 million tickets will be offered for the tournament (June 14th to July 14th). “We will certainly have between ten and twelve million inquiries,” said Kallen.

If the demand exceeds the supply for a game, a lottery is held. It continues after the draw for the group phase on December 2nd in Hamburg. Ticket prices range from 30 euros (cheapest category in the preliminary round) to 1000 euros (highest category in the final in Berlin).
