It is extremely busy on Sunday evening at Serious Request on the Markt in Den Bosch. The square is full of people watching Pommelien Thijs’ performance. The square is temporarily closed. The waiting time to get to the square can be up to an hour. The municipality advises people who still want to come to move to the Parade or other places in the city.
Due to the large crowds, the area on the Markt is closed. “We try to point people out as much as possible about other places in the city,” says a spokesperson. “We realize that many visitors come for the artists. It is possible that space will become available again after a performance has ended.” One of the artists performing on Sunday is Pommelien Thijs, which ensures an extra crowd.
Enforcement Den Bosch writes on Instagram that several streets have been closed to prevent oppression.
A new score was announced on Sunday evening: the campaign had raised 7,423,618 euros after three days.
On Friday the counter stood at more than 4.3 million euros and on Saturday at approximately 5.9 million euros. This year, NPO 3FM’s Serious Request is all about Muscles for Muscles, a foundation that helps children with a muscular disease.
During Serious Request, 3FM DJs Barend van Deelen, Sophie Hijlkema and Mart Meijer are locked up in the Glass House on the Markt. From there they make radio 24 hours a day. The promotion will continue until Christmas Eve.
