Huge branch falls on swimming pool in Breda, wall partially collapses

A large branch of a monumental tree suddenly broke off on Friday morning and ended up on the roof of the Sonsbeeck swimming pool in Breda. No one was injured in this.

The fire service was called in to remove the branch. An aerial platform was used for this purpose.

During the job, part of the wall of the pool on which the branch had fallen came down. The municipality of Breda has since taken over the clean-up work on Pieter-Christiaanstraat.

As far as is known, the swimming pool can be visited as usual; the entrance to the complex would be on another side of the building.
