HSG Wetzlar: Season off for national handball goalkeeper Klimpke

Wetzlar (AP) – Handball national goalkeeper Till Klimpke is no longer available for Bundesliga club HSG Wetzlar this season due to a knee injury.

The 24-year-old will have to undergo meniscus surgery next week and will be out indefinitely. “The pain was just too great. After detailed examinations, continued participation in training and games was no longer medically justifiable. An operation is inevitable,” said Wetzlar’s team doctor Marco Kettrukat about Klimpke’s injury. The club hopes for a return of the DHB keeper at the beginning of the summer preparations for the coming season.
