HR Group sells shoe retailer Reno and now focuses on other areas.
The new Reno owner is Cm.Sports GmbH based in Springe, the HR Group announced on Friday. The HR Group is thus handing over Reno Schuhcentrum GmbH with its respective subsidiaries in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to Cm.Sports GmbH and the cooperation partner GA Europe. This includes the branch network in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as the Reno online shop, which is currently inactive. The employees are to be taken over by the new owners.
The aim of Cm.Sports is to position the retailer “as a real alternative for clever shopping”, according to the statement. The current range will be adjusted over the next few months and offered at a special sale. HR Group, which intends to focus more on logistics in the future, will continue to supply Reno stores as part of the sale agreement.
Cm.Sports is part of Cm.Solutions GmbH, which is managed by Meike and Christian Müller. The company also includes Cm.Shoes GmbH, which took over the Swiss retail chain Vögele Shoes in June 2021. Meike Müller and Christian Müller are behind the Hanover-based company. The latter is also the managing director of the outdoor retailer McTrek, which has belonged to the Adler parent company Zeitfracht since May.
HR Group focuses on system business and logistics division
The former Reno parent HR Group wants to focus more on the system business for stationary trade and online business as well as the area of logistics in the future. The company is therefore concentrating on offering services in the areas of shopfitting, collection development, procurement and control of goods, and area staff for shoe retailers. This branch, in which the company was already active, is now to be expanded further.
There will also be changes at the top of the HR Group. Co-managing director Steffen Rosenbauer left the company “on the best of terms” at the end of September. In future it will only be managed by the other two managing directors, Gabriele Kreis-Schiemann and Uwe Niemann. Rosenbauer assumed the position of CEO in March 2021. He was previously Managing Director Retail at Reno.
The majority shareholder of the HR Group is the financial investor Capiton AG. In addition, there is a stake in the Polish shoe chain store CCC SA as well as individuals from the former and current management team.
