There was a radical change in HPK’s profit status.
Hämeenlinna Ball Club has drifted into a violent downward spiral in the League. The team has lost no less than 10 of its previous 11 matches.
The change from the beginning of the season is quite significant, as the team won eight of its first 11 matches. So far, two completely different episodes can be distinguished from the season.
On Saturday, the team lost 0–4 as a guest of JYP.
– Today the result was not even close. Yes, there were good phases in the game. We started well, there was a Läpiajo and a tough one and a pole. JYP scored a goal and got a clear grip, HPK head coach Jarno Pikkarainen said at a press conference.

According to the head coach, the people of Hämeenlinna played very well even in a 0–3 situation, but there was no reward.
– We didn’t get close.
– We have lost a lot of games. This is a confidence sport. In such moments, results and goals guide even more than normal.
What makes HPK’s situation even worse is that from the beginning of the week Häme Sanomat reported that the club will change the head coach for next season. According to the newspaper, Pikkarainen will be replaced by Matias Lehtonen.
Pikkarainen is the so-called lame duck in the club – a leader whose reign is already coming to an end.
