If Van Hool soon encounters bankruptcy, the numerous descendants behind the bus builder will also suffer financially. The ‘Van Hooltjes’ are already seeing their assets in the controlling family holding company Immoroc shrink almost visibly. Only one Van Hool seems to have been able to escape the malaise and has built up a fortune of many tens of millions of euros in recent years – outside the family business.
