Due to the new updates of WhatsApp, several cell phone models will be left without the messaging service, since they are out of the range of technical characteristics to assume the changes. For this reason, the most advisable thing would be for users who own these cell phones to be able to make a backup so as not to lose the information that is inside their WhatsApp, until they can acquire a device that does have the capacity for updates.
The first thing to do is open WhatsApp, go to the option “Settings”open the option “chats” and there select the option “Backup”. There you must click on the option “make copy now”. The process can take around 30 minutes. The backup will begin to upload to the Drive account associated with Google.
Thanks to this, they will be saved in the cloud and when you open a session on the new phone you can recover all the information, chats and contacts. For this it is important to have space in the Drive profile. The platform has a limit of 15GB.
In general, any device that has a version lower than iOS 12 and Android 4.1 will not be supported by the WhatsApp application. In case you have a device with the KaiOS operating system, it must have version 2.5.0 or newer, which includes the JioPhone and JioPhone 2.
Some of the models that will no longer have WhatsApp will be: on the Samsung side, the Samsung Galaxy Core models; Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite; Samsung Galaxy X cover 2. Within the LG line; the LG Optimus L3 II Dual; – LG Optimus L5 II; LG Optimus F5 and the LG Optimus L3 II. Three of the iPhone models will not be able to have the applications: iPhone 6S; iPhone SE; iPhone 6S Plus. There are also several models from Sony and Lenovo that will not be able to contain the technical characteristics for these updates.
