Storm “Nadia” in Berlin
In Berlin, the storm “Nadia” sweeps down one tree after the next. Components fly around. In Brandenburg, a man was even killed by a flying election poster. The weather in Berlin has been in a state of emergency since 8.10 a.m. on Sunday morning.
The fire department has information on its website about how to behave in the event of storm and severe weather warnings.
- Keep balcony and patio drains and all other drains belonging to the building free of leaves and blossoms!
- Retract awnings, close parasols!
- Pull out the mains plugs and antenna cables from television sets and PCs!
- Fight minor water damage yourself. This frees up firefighters for important operations.
- Stay indoors during storms and thunderstorms – this is the safest place.
- If you are surprised outdoors, crouch down.
From Saturday evening (8 p.m.) to Sunday morning (7 a.m.), around 250 operations came together, as the Berlin fire brigade announced on Twitter. Problems were mainly caused by fallen trees on sidewalks and roadways and securing loose components.
