Thousands of couples live in poverty in the Netherlands, due to a government error. As a result, families with a living allowance of less than € 50 per week have to pay back all kinds of allowances, while they are entitled to them. The government is aware of the mistake, but does nothing, says editor Christiaan Pelgrim. How is this possible?
