How smart can you be? Driving to the police station without a driver’s license

A 42-year-old man from Etten-Leur thought he was keeping his appointment with the police. On Saturday morning, agents were at his door to collect more than 500 euros in outstanding fines. Since he did not have the money, it was agreed that he would come to the station later in the day. Meanwhile, the officers discovered that the man’s driver’s license was suspended. When he later arrived in his van, it resulted in a special scene.

With great surprise, the officers saw the man parked at the police station with his work bus. He was able to pay more than 500 euros in outstanding fines on the spot. In addition to a receipt, he also received a police report for driving with a suspended driver’s license. The amount thereof is determined by the Public Prosecutor.

According to the police, the man brought the bad luck on himself. “He could have known that he was no longer allowed to drive a vehicle and unfortunately for him we always check everyone if that person has to pay fines or comes into our picture.”
