How quickly will Dudziak get fit for Hertha?

By Carsten Priefer

Hertha has found its left-back for the resurgence mission!

His name is Jeremy Dudziak (27), came from Fürth for a small transfer fee and signed in Berlin until 2024. Those responsible at Hertha see the Tunisian international, who was made a professional in Dortmund by Jürgen Klopp, as a reinforcement for the left flank and midfield.

Coach Pal Dardai (47): “He’s a good kicker, can work the left flank. Now we have to get him in top shape.” Dudziak hasn’t played a league game for a good five months. In the winter, Fürth loaned him to Turkey’s first division side Hatayspor, who, however, no longer played in the SüperLig after the devastating earthquake.

Hertha’s sports director Benjamin Weber (43) sees no problem with this: “Jeremy has been training a lot lately, he just lacks match practice. But he’s experienced enough, he can do it.” He has played a total of 156 first-division games and 25 second-division games so far.

What do the facts say, e.g. B. to speed? In Fürth, Dudziak had a top speed of 31.5 km/h. Not exactly fixed. Hertha attacker Jessic Ngankam (22) ran 35.88 km/h last season. Dudziak has to step up there.

Team manager Allagui played together with Dudziak

Team manager Sami Allagui (37), who played with Dudziak at St. Pauli from 2017 to 2019, is convinced of this: “He’s the best available option on the left side. He did a great job at St. Pauli back then, he’s really good with the ball.”

Dudziak can also play in midfield and often tries to find playful solutions there. Andreas “Zecke” Neuendorf (47/Director Academy & Licensed Players Department): “He has a top attitude, is good for the team, a fine boy who really wants Hertha.”

Dudziak is now on the left, which means for Marvin Plattenhardt (31) that he will not get a new contract with Hertha. After nine years in the blue and white jersey, last year’s captain has to look for a new club.
