It is almost inevitable that groceries have become more expensive compared to last year. Food costs are fueling inflation, which hit 12 percent in August. According to Statistics Netherlands (CBS), the average price of food still fell in 2021, albeit by 0.2 percent. This year it is different.
RTV Drenthe reporter Marcel Drent compared the price of an average message. He took the test, and this week filled his shopping cart with exactly the same products as two years ago, at the same supermarket.
The big question: how much more expensive have these products become?
