Jeffrey Parmentier (21) steals the show with his TikTok video that has been viewed more than 16 million times in recent days. On the roller coaster, under water or between dancing cacti, the former student from the Fioretti College takes out its trumpet in the most absurd places.
In his TikTok video, Jeffrey plays the song Tequila on his trumpet. He does not do this performance alone, but together with eight dancing cacti. “Kids absolutely love the videos,” says Jeffrey. “Sometimes they even stand in front of my door because they want to take a picture with me.”
Inflate balloon with a trumpet
He has almost 220,000 followers on TikTok and his videos have a total of about 4.7 million likes. He tries to make the films as playful as possible: from blowing up a balloon with a trumpet to blowing into a bowl of whipped cream with his trumpet. “It really is a full-time job,” he says. “You have to come up with something new every time.”

Jeffrey, who does not live outside Haarlemmermeer, combines trumpet playing and DJing in his videos. By the time he entered Fioretti College, he could already play the trumpet and performed with the school band at celebrations. He only became a DJ when he was eighteen, after he won the DJ competition in Hoofddorp at Meerlive Festival. “Actually, I wasn’t a DJ at all, but I pretended to be able to participate. Then I thought: now I have to make it happen too.”
Playing trumpet for the elderly
Many people know Jeffrey through his performances for the elderly during corona. “When the first lockdown came I couldn’t perform anymore, so I thought: then I’ll just play the trumpet outside.” He took his musical instrument and cycled to an elderly flat a few blocks away. In front of the flat he stopped and started to play. In the following weeks he was inundated with invitations to play for the elderly.

Without charging a penny for it, Jeffrey decided to travel across the country to cheer people up with music. “I didn’t think beforehand: I’m going to get all the gigs out of it. Just making people happy, that was my goal,” he says.
“What I’m doing now, I could have dreamed but not expected.”
