How IVY OAK makes sustainable wool production a matter of course

Sustainability has become an increasingly important factor for consumers when choosing their clothing and the brands they shop from. However, it is often difficult to recognize which products are made from sustainable materials and in fair production, as companies are often not transparent when it comes to material procurement and production circumstances. IVY OAK, on the other hand, has taken a significant step towards environmental responsibility by incorporating the use of recycled wool into its clothing production. The label is committed to changing the fashion industry through the selection of high-quality fabrics, responsible practices and transparent communication. With their “reuse/repair/recycle” mentality, they strive for change and create a positive impact. This step is underlined by the recent Responsible Wool Standard certification (275969) by Ecocert Greenlife, which demonstrates the company’s commitment to sustainable practices.

The Responsible Wool Standard (RWS)

RWS certification is more than just a label; it is a commitment to ethical practices throughout the wool production process, which includes:

Protection of animal welfare: Ensuring the health and welfare of the sheep.

Sustainable land management: Maintaining soil health, biodiversity and native species.

Social and labor standards: Protecting the rights and safety of workers in agriculture and processing plants.

The RWS also guarantees full traceability of the supply chain, from the wool production companies to the final transaction between companies.

From sustainability to team building

But it doesn’t stop with sustainability itself. In order to promote communication within the company, IVY OAK recently organized an offsite event at the Kemperhof in Brandenburg. Here the team members from different departments had the opportunity to exchange ideas and develop and plan further future plans for IVY OAK. The offsite event was a bringing together of ideas, creativity and expertise to question the status quo and learn from each other. Teamwork is required with the common goal of building a better future in mind.
