“Who is the Mask?” will be Telefe’s new bet, which will debut on September 12 at 10:30 p.m. to replace “The Argentine Voice”, which is coming to an end. The new show will be hosted by the actress and singer Natalia Oreiro, and it will mark his return to Telefe after several years of absence: “Entre Caníbales”, from 2015, had been his last collaboration with the channel.
The program is inspired by the American reality show “The Masked Singer”, a success in many parts of the world (it already has a Uruguayan version that has summoned “La China” Suárez), and will be in direct competition with “Sing with me now” the program of Marcelo Tinelli in The Thirteen.
“The Argentine Voice”that had been imposing itself on “Sing with me now”with 13 rating points, while Tinelli marks a average of 9.5 points. A bid that is leveraged from Telefe with the premiere of “Genesis” the new Brazilian soap opera that leaves a floor of 11.5 so that the reality show hosted by Marley, and now his replacement with Oreiro, can win the match against the former ShowMatch.
As will be
“Who is the Mask?” It will feature 24 masked celebrities, and their voices will be distorted, one of which will be removed in each edition. Spectators will be able to place bets at home to reveal who is behind the mask. Oreiro, as host, will be in charge of moderating the interaction between the participants and the “investigators”, who will try to reveal the secret. Meanwhile, the famous masked men must mislead the investigators and avoid being discovered.
The researchers are one of the pearls of the program. In addition to a great visual and production commitment (celebrities will wear very flashy outfits so as not to reveal their identity), Natalia Oreiro will be accompanied by Wanda Nara, Lizy Tagliani, Karina “The Little Princess” (a former Tinelli in “Bailando”) and Robert Moldavsky.
“Get ready to know the best kept secret on television,” he says Natalia Oreiro in the promotional video of the program that will arrive in a week, in which she and her troupe of investigators recreate the imaginary of the detectives: in the dark and marking photos and papers on the wall to try to unravel the mystery.
“No one can know who is behind the mask. I’m not going to know! Of course, the four researchers are not going to know either and they are going to discover them among the researchers and the public”, Oreiro advanced to Paula Chavez in “Cut by Lozano.”
