How fun?! This is how you adopt a tree in Nieuwe Driemanspolder

How fun is this?! Want to show everyone pictures of your own apple tree, hazel or rose bush on birthdays? In Food Forest GeuzeGroen in nature reserve Nieuwe Driemanspolder it is possible to adopt a tree, shrub or other plant.

In the area next to Camping De Morgenster, volunteers are busy building a food forest. The area is full of trees and shrubs from which we can pick our food later. Do you also want to contribute to this beautiful nature reserve? Then an adoption tree might be something for you! Which do you choose? Are you going for the kiwi berry, wild strawberry or peach, or perhaps the onion soup tree?

With a group or on your own

You can adopt a tree or shrub in Food Forest GeuzeGroen for between 15 and 90 euros every five years. Once registered as a donor, you can help plant the tree and hang your name tag on it afterwards. You will receive a certificate with the GPS coordinators so that you can find your tree in the nature reserve.

You can adopt a tree alone, but it is also possible with a group. Not only nice to visit your new addition with your family or group of friends, but you also share the adoption costs.

Neighborhood apple tree

The editors of indebuurt Zoetermeer put it to the test and registered for an adopted apple tree. You indicate on a form which tree or shrub you want to adopt, whereby GeuzeGroen tries to meet the wish as much as possible. By appointment we will visit GeuzeGroen and get to know a beautiful apple tree of an old variety that can continue to grow considerably in the coming years!

Symbolic value

It is good to know that adoption trees are all about the symbolic value. The tree never becomes your property and anyone can walk by and pick from it. The volunteers of the food forest take care of your tree, so you don’t have to work with it. If your tree dies in the meantime, you can choose another adoption tree. And are the five years over? Then you can possibly extend the contribution to your adopted child. Adopt here a tree.
