On Saturday evening it’s that time again: In the Allianz Arena there will be a German classic between FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund (from 6:30 p.m. in the LIVE ticker). BVB travels to Munich with the aim of preventing the hosts from the hoped-for championship party. Coach Marco Rose may reveal how this is supposed to work on the matchday PK.
sport.de accompanies the media round Thursday away 1:30 p.m in the ticker!
+++ Marco Rose the youngest form +++
I hope that we can maintain these performances against Wolfsburg and call them up again in Munich. We’ve got it, we’ve got it on the racket! Accordingly, we need a committed and courageous performance in Munich. There’s little point in just focusing on defending. I’m a positive person and I trust us to do the same.
+++ Marco Rose about Tom Rothe +++
Tom was Tom in training week! Nothing special! We didn’t bake a cake for his first game and first goal. We were all happy for him and our youth work. It was a very good game over 90 minutes. Now we just have to see how we continue to integrate Tom and the other guys over the next few weeks. We are still very thin in terms of personnel. All of us here know the strengths and weaknesses of the boys. In terms of timing, positional play, perception, Tom can still improve in the defensive area. We’ll see who we put there in Munich.
+++ Marco Rose on the importance of the game in Munich +++
It’s FC Bayern versus BVB, an important game and a classic. It’s about prestige and of course it’s an important game! A win in Munich is always good and can always do something for a team. The first and last impression is always something you take with you. We started with a very good game against Wolfsburg. Now Bayern Munich is the next opponent, so we can confirm this impression.
+++ Marco Rose on the duel between Haaland and Lewandowski +++
With both strikers you can say that they are absolutely game-determining factors in their teams due to their odds. In detail, of course, with other strengths. Lewandowski serves almost all facets, plays a lot, lets himself fall. When it comes to the box, he immediately puts himself towards goal, he has an outstanding first contact, good header, great finish. Erling has developed further in recent years. His header game has become very strong, he is an absolute weapon with his speed when it comes to offensive switching games. Against Wolfsburg he served the other part very well, played well and was a very good wall player. If you lose players of this quality and with the odds, it always does something to a team. You have to catch that first. But that happens again and again in football, that an era is over. But of course as a coach you want to keep guys like that with you for as long as possible.
+++ Marco Rose on the constellation on Saturday +++
We haven’t dealt with the balance sheet in Munich yet. Bayern can become champions, so they will perform accordingly. We want to prevent that, that’s our job and our goal. We need a top performance for that, that’s clear. We need a consistent performance over 90 minutes to defend the opponent’s offensive power, but also to become dangerous on the offensive and create scoring chances.
+++ Marco Rose on the staff +++
The fact is that Raphael Guerreiro, Felix Passlack and Nico Schulz are options again. Gregor Kobel left the field injured during training and has a ligament injury. He won’t be able to play at the weekend. There is also Axel Witsel, who has an infection. It won’t be enough for him on Saturday either. Unfortunately, no one else is coming back either so Thorgan Hazard, Gio Reyna, Mo Dahoud, Donyell Malen, Mats Hummels and Thomas Meunier will all be absent.
+++ Marco Rose about Niklas Süle +++
I think we all know that Niklas will join us next year. After it became official, we were able to separate it all very well. He wants to say goodbye to Munich with maximum success. The topic will not be opened before the direct duel, that makes total sense. There’s nothing more to say about that.
+++ Match ball for FC Bayern – BVB with personnel worries +++
With a win against BVB, FC Bayern could wrap up their tenth championship title in a row. With a nine-point lead and only four games left, almost everything points to Munich’s next triumph.
Borussia would like to postpone the hosts’ party for at least a week. The prerequisite for this is a coup in the Allianz Arena – that is, of all places, where there have always been violent packs for the Westphalians in recent years.
The last win in Munich came in spring 2014, since then four to six goals have been conceded for the Ruhrpott club.
The task for coach Marco Rose is made more difficult by the current injury situation in the black and yellow. BVB are worried about the goalkeeper Gregor Kobel before the cracker. The Swiss missed Wednesday’s training session after injuring himself in a collision with Jude Bellingham the day before.
Donyell Malen, Mahmoud Dahoud, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Marius Wolf, Thorgan Hazard and Axel Witsel were also unable to participate in the unit, as well as long-term patients Thomas Meunier, Giovanni Reyna and Mateu Morey.
Rose therefore brought several talents from the U23 and U19 up to the training of the professionals. The next two days will show whether some of the youngsters also have a chance of a place in the squad against FC Bayern.
