In Bekegem, a sub-municipality of Ichtegem, not many bus stops have been deleted, although travelers still had to pay attention. Several lines have changed numbers and the frequency of some buses has also fallen sharply. “The number of canceled stops is limited. There is a change in when which buses go where. In certain streets and at certain stops there is no longer a bus every hour,” explains Mayor Lieven Cobbaert.
A little further away, in the neighboring municipality of Westkerke, the new transport plan has a greater impact. “It is completely different for the people in Roksem. There you only have a bus three times a day. And that is a bit difficult, especially when you have to go to the doctor, for example,” says bus traveler Lorenzo Vanbavinckhove.
