There is a significant difference between cocoa powder and cocoa beverage powder, but don’t panic if you can’t find genuine cocoa powder in your closet.

When the baking recipe calls for the use of cocoa powder, it is not quite what kind of cocoa package you will pick up then.
Products sold under the name Cocoa Powder contain pure cocoa powder to which no sugar or other substances have been added. The cocoa powder is dark and is great for baking. Usually, cocoa powder is specifically used in chocolate pastries.
In addition to cocoa powders, there are numerous different types of cocoa beverage powders in stores. In addition to cocoa powder, they contain sugar, various additives and usually a touch of salt. Cocoa beverage powders are intended to be mixed with milk, making them quite easy to make.
But what if the baking recipe calls for the use of cocoa powder but only cocoa powder in the cupboard?
In this case, omit the cocoa powder and add cocoa powder to the dough instead of sugar. Much of the cocoa beverage powder is sugar, so this gimmick usually saves perfectly in a situation where no real cocoa powder can be found in the closet.
