Hovocubo takes first step towards title with a big win over FC Eindhoven

In the first final match for the national championship, Hovocubo did excellent business. The Hoorn futsal club won a 2-6 visit to FC Eindhoven. Next week, Sander van Dijk’s team can get the job done in-house.

Although FC Eindhoven started in front of a well-filled sports hall, Hovocubo took the lead after six minutes via former Eindhoven player Lahcen Bouyouzan. Within fifteen minutes, Iliass Bouzit and Souffian Charraoui gave the visitors a comfortable 3-0 lead. Former Hovocubo player Saïd Bouzambou brought Eindhoven back into the game.

After the break, the teams were more evenly matched, but it was Eindhoven that went looking for the connecting goal. Oualid Saadouni scored the 3-2 ten minutes after the break, but while the home fans were still cheering, Iliass Bouzit made it 4-2. Hovocubo played the match mature and went through Absessamad Attahiri and Mats Velseboer to a 6-2 victory.

Next Friday, the return awaits in Sporthal De Opgang. With a win, Hovocubo secures the national title. In case of a draw, the deciding game will be next Sunday, also in Hoorn.

Reactions and a summary on NH Sport will follow later.
