Houthis claim attack on British oil tanker in Red Sea | Abroad

Military ships are on their way to the British oil tanker on which a fire broke out, reports the ship’s owner, commodities trader Trafigura. The crew is said to be busy extinguishing the fire. The British maritime security company Ambrey previously reported that the crew of the Marlin Luanda that was shot at was unharmed.

The ship was sailing in the Gulf of Aden when it was struck, off the coast of Yemen. The Houthis are firing missiles and drones there and in the adjacent Red Sea at ships that have a link to Israel or Israel’s allies. The rebel movement supports Hamas and the Palestinian population and wants Israel to stop the military operation in the Gaza Strip.
