House prices in Drenthe continue to rise, but fewer and fewer homes are for sale

House prices continue to rise in Drenthe, but this has not yet led to a decline in the number of homes sold. However, the differences within the province are large. This is evident from figures from the NVM real estate agents’ association.

In the fourth quarter of last year, 1,202 houses were sold, an increase of seven percent compared to that period in 2022. At the same time, the supply of available homes decreased.

There are major differences in the housing market within Drenthe. For example, the municipality of Coevorden reported a decrease in the number of homes sold in the fourth quarter of more than 21 percent compared to the third quarter in 2023. The municipality of Aa en Hunze, on the other hand, saw a growth of almost 35 percent.

The average sales price in the fourth quarter was 366,000 euros, an increase of 2.6 percent. But prices also vary greatly in Drenthe. For example, prices in Borger-Odoorn rose by 10.4 percent in the last quarter of last year, but Midden-Drenthe reported a decrease of almost seven percent compared to the previous quarter.
