Hotel Punkaharju’s business went haywire.

The entrepreneur couple who made the highest offer has withdrawn their offer and will not sign the deed of sale.

Mikko Ranta-Huitti and Hannu Huitti offered 745,000 euros for the hotel in the July auction.

Ranta-Huitti does not want to reveal the reasons behind the cancellation decision. He describes the transaction process as interesting and says that the auction will start again later.

The entrepreneurial couple told Iltalehte at the beginning of August that they want the hotel to serve more local residents in the future.

– We would like Hotel Punkaharju to be operational next summer. It was thought that we should also participate in the talks. Yes, we have the idea that the name would return to Valtionhotelli, Hannu Huitti said.

You debunked the rumours

Saimi Hoyer’s Hotel Punkaharju filed for bankruptcy in April due to insolvency.

The hotel and its properties were put up for auction at the end of June. The auction ended on July 30.

Bankruptcy administrator of Punkaharju Luontomatkailu Oy Esko Liimatainen denied on Monday the rumors of the cancellation of the deal.

– The deal is still unfinished. There is nothing to report here yet, Liimatainen said emphatically.

Iltalehti could not reach Liimatai on Tuesday.
