Hotel in Den Bosch will provide shelter for 250 asylum seekers in a week

The municipality of Den Bosch has given final approval for the temporary reception of asylum seekers in the Mövenpick Hotel in Den Bosch. 250 people can live there.

There was a lot of reaction to the news that COA was going to rent the hotel and apply for an environmental permit. “We received 387,” says the municipality of Den Bosch. Many of these concerned the moment at which local residents were informed. They are also concerned about the impact on the neighborhood, the Gestelse Buurt.

The Kruithoorn
The residents are concerned about safety and their own access to care and education. In addition to the 250 asylum seekers who will live in the former four-star hotel, the request is still outstanding to also offer the Kruithoorn to the COA as an AZC. The request is to receive another 350 asylum seekers there for a period of ten years. But the municipality still has to decide on that.
