Hotel chain Ritz-Carlton markets cruise travel for 5,759 euros per week: “Customers must experience life of billionaires here” | Abroad

A star chef, personal assistants and a nightclub. The new cruise trips of the hotel chain Ritz-Carlton capture the imagination. “Our customers should be able to experience the life of a billionaire,” says the hotel chain. But it does come with a hefty price tag: 5,759 euros per week.

Evrima – meaning ‘discovery’ in Greek – sails from Barcelona to Nice for the first time today. The cruise ship is designed to mimic life on a billionaire’s superyacht. In total there is room for 298 travelers.

The luxury ship features a restaurant where a star chef works, personal assistants, four swimming pools, a champagne bar, a gym, a cigar room, a beauty salon and a nightclub. Those in need of some exercise can rent a paddleboard, kayak, surfboard or even a sailboat.

In addition to the standard cabins, there are a range of two-story “loft-style” suites and apartments with private living and dining areas, two bathrooms, and a whirlpool.

Service excellence is something Ritz-Carlton is committed to putting extra effort into for passengers. The assistants are told to guarantee the guests “a flawless journey from start to finish”. This is very reminiscent of the film ‘Triangle of Sadness’ by Ruben Östlund. Only this is not fiction, but reality.

A holiday on the luxury yacht of Ritz-Carlton costs a solid penny: 5,759 euros per week to be exact. That is the price for a standard cabin. The hotel chain does not want to disclose how much a private suite costs. Despite rising inflation and purchasing power issues, the Ritz-Carlton claims to be overwhelmed by demand. Almost all cabins would be sold out this fall and winter.
