Hostage taker carried explosives, but not on edge

The 27-year-old Amsterdammer who held a hostage situation in the Apple Store on Leidseplein on Tuesday evening, had explosives on his body. However, they were not on the alert, reports the triangle of Public Prosecution Service, police and mayor Femke Halsema.

What kind of explosives the man was carrying is under investigation.
