This concerns the Happy Day day hotel in Ezelsstraat. It was the owner of the day hotel who alerted the police.
The police had closed off the area with a spacious perimeter. Special police intervention units were also on site.
Other guests were asked by police to leave the hotel. People living in the area were unable to go to their homes for a while. They were taken care of in a classroom nearby.
