Theodoor V. from Veenhuizen did not cross the line during his internship at the Bremen hospital. The hospital reports this after an internal investigation. V. was active in the Rotes Kreuz Krankenhaus for months in 2017.
The German hospital launched an investigation into V. after he allegedly confessed to GGZ employees that he was responsible for the death of twenty patients in the Wilhelmina Hospital Assen. V. worked there as a nurse between March 2020 and May 2022.
In the lung department, where corona patients were nursed, he is said to have been guilty of twenty life crimes. V. had been detained for weeks since his arrest in mid-April, but has been free since this month. He denies involvement in the death of WZA patients.
In Bremen, Theodoor V. did an internship at the vascular surgery department as part of his education at Noorderpoort. That was between February and July 2017. “As an intern, V. did not only work with the patients in our hospital. He was supervised in nursing activities by our registered nurses,” the hospital reports in a statement.
To be on the safe side, the hospital management decided to check whether there were any irregularities in V.’s period. “As we expected, the thorough investigation revealed no irregularities.”
In addition to his internship in Bremen, V. also worked in the past at the UMCG and Martini Hospital in Groningen. Both hospitals stated in a statement at the beginning of this month that there are no indications that V. would have crossed the border there.
