Horse racing on De Haan beach: “We want to bring hippodrome to the general public”

The short track trotting race is an equestrian discipline that is especially popular on Dutch beaches. She is even less known to us. Nevertheless, some 40 horses took part for the first time on the beach of De Haan. A series was also planned for the ponies.

With the free Pop-Hippodrome, the organization wanted to bring horse racing to the public. The threshold to go to a racecourse is often too high, she thinks. “This is an opportunity to experience that atmosphere and the passion of horse racing in a public place here on the beach,” said Max Struys, one of the organizers.
