Horse racing and renovation: image, comparisons and projects

The process of renewing and recovering the image of Italian horse racing continues: in the third meeting of the Horse Racing Council called for by Undersecretary Patrizio La Pietra, another important step was taken with the presentation of the new institutional website dedicated above all to dissemination, which will respond to the name grandeippicaitaliana.it.

This is precisely the new “brand” which was later also illustrated from a graphic point of view. As reiterated by the General Director Remo Chiodi, the assumption is simple: in agreement with the need to intervene on a technical level, to resolve the now atavistic problem of late payments, but the reconstruction of an image of the sector is also essential to propose our races abroad with greater appeal. In this sense, the meetings that took place in recent weeks with the French and Swedish operators were significant and also led to a series of important results given that already this year the Student World Championship was awarded to Italy; in August, probably in Merano, a meeting of the Pattern Committee will be held and above all in 2029 the world horse racing conference will be organized in Italy.

Two other projects fit into this context: the Palio of the regions of Italy and the G7 Italy. The first is itinerant with a calendar to be defined, while the second already has a date and an established location: that of 26 September in Syracuse where the G7 on Agriculture will be held in those days and in that location work is underway to organize the racecourse of the Mediterranean, a day of racing with three trotting trials and three gallop trials including two major prizes in which jockeys and drivers representing the 7 nations on stage in the Aretusea city should participate.
