Horror poller in Zoetermeer? In any case, this driver was not paying attention

Do you know the infamous horror poller from The Hague? This is located on the Escamplaan and more than fifty motorists have already collided with it. Zoetermeer also has a bollard, which is regularly overlooked, on Vierde Stationsstraat near Tuincentrum de Driesprong.

Bert Strathausen cycled past on Vierde Stationsstraat shortly after the collision with the bollard. He took a picture of the unfortunate motorist who had missed the obstacle.

Temporarily disabled

The bollard ensures that cut-through traffic through the bus lock is hindered. Only buses and vehicles with a valid permit may use the lock to drive from Vierde Stationsstraat to Berkelseweg and vice versa. To avoid the closed bus lock, motorists regularly use the parking lot of garden center De Driesprong during the day to get to the other side.

Recently, the bollard was switched off for a few weeks due to repair work after a collision. Since May 22, the bus lock has been repaired and the bollard is active again. Apparently this motorist missed that news, but in any case did not pay close attention to the road.
