At around 9 p.m. on Pentecost Sunday, dramatic scenes took place on the Berliner Ring between the Oberkrämer junction and the Oranienburg motorway triangle.

A BMW was driving towards Frankfurt/Oder in the left lane when one of the tires suddenly burst and the vehicle shot to the right. According to initial information, the car flew over the guardrail, landed in the ditch – and caught fire.

A family with a child was in the car. It is not yet known whether the man, woman and child got to safety themselves or were rescued by witnesses.

The rescuers who arrived first treated the injured inmates and transported them to hospitals. The fire brigade extinguished the BMW, which burned out completely.

The A10 was completely blocked in the direction of Frankfurt/Oder for several hours. The road had to be deep cleaned.
