The 29-year-old man from Hoogeveen who was arrested last Monday for involvement in a fatal stabbing in Holtstek, Groningen, remains a suspect in the case. This is reported by the Public Prosecution Service. A 70-year-old woman died at the scene of her injuries in the stabbing incident.
It is not known what the man is suspected of, but according to the Public Prosecution Service, the suspicions are not so serious that he is being held in custody.
In addition to the 29-year-old man from Hoogeveen, the police also arrested a 30-year-old man from Budel in North Brabant. He is charged with aggravated manslaughter. That means that someone kills another, in order to cover up a criminal offense. This suspect remains in custody.
