The 32-year-old woman from Hoogeveen, who is suspected of being involved in a stabbing in a catering building in Westerbork, will be detained for fourteen days longer. This has been determined by the examining magistrate of the Northern Netherlands District Court.
A 34-year-old man from Hoogeveen was injured in the incident on Sunday. He was taken to hospital.
The stabbing took place around 7 p.m. in a catering building on Beilerstraat. After the incident, the Hoogeveense ran away, but the police were able to arrest her later in the area.
According to the police, the woman and the victim knew each other, although further investigation is needed to determine which situation ultimately led to the stabbing. A spokesperson for the Public Prosecution Service for the Northern Netherlands could not explain what exactly happened.
