Hoofddorp entrepreneurs make giant orange tompouce: “With a good goal attached to it”

It is the King’s Day snack par excellence: the orange tompouce. Hoofddorp entrepreneurs decided to go a few sizes bigger this year. They made one of two by three meters to raise money for Kika.

And to think that a tompouce with the usual dimensions (4 x 10 centimeters) is already difficult to eat. “Put it on its side, and then tjak, tjak, tjak”, a woman explains how she usually eats her tompouce. “Or put it in your mouth all at once. That’s also possible.”

“We already made the cream this morning, and the fondant is now being heated,” says the baker. “The giant copy was ready well before lunchtime, and the bakers cut the cake.

The small cakes turned out to be a welcome snack, especially for the earliest free market visitors, who were also on their feet around sunrise in Hoofddorp. “Fresh and soft, and for a good cause”, what more could you want?”, said an enthusiast. Around 11:00 am, 7,000 euros had been collected.
