The start of the short track season started yesterday in Assendelft. Traditionally, the village kicks off the first of 25 races, but this time it was not so obvious that Assendelft would be the decor. A new organization from the residents and stable owners made this possible. On Saturday, positive noises were heard.
After the Rotary stopped in 2019, a gap fell, Rik Jansen said rather to NH Nieuws† A new association was founded and soon gained many members.
By stopping catering facilities The Coat of Arms of Assendelft another location had to be found, including for the stables. It was found at a garage two blocks away. There Frans van der Blonk and his cousin Thomas Bos are getting ready for the race. For them, this race is a home race.

The race was won by Pikeur Mats Wester with his horse Coktail Bar. Van der Blonk was fifth, Bos did not get past the first round.
