Hoof beats in the streets of Assendelft: short track trotting back with a vengeance

The start of the short track season started yesterday in Assendelft. Traditionally, the village kicks off the first of 25 races, but this time it was not so obvious that Assendelft would be the decor. A new organization from the residents and stable owners made this possible. On Saturday, positive noises were heard.

After the Rotary stopped in 2019, a gap fell, Rik Jansen said rather to NH Nieuws† A new association was founded and soon gained many members.

The race was won by Pikeur Mats Wester with his horse Coktail Bar. Van der Blonk was fifth, Bos did not get past the first round.
