One party has just ended, but the next is about to happen. Tonight FC Emmen will be honored on the Raadhuisplein in the city.
The club managed to secure promotion to the Eredivisie last night by beating FC Dordrecht. After the final whistle, the first party with supporters, players and trainers started on the field. The party then continued in the locker room. The players’ bus arrived at the stadium in Emmen around 2.30 am, where the club received a hero’s welcome.
FC Emmen will be honored tonight at 6.30 pm. The ceremony can be followed live on RTV Drenthe. The broadcast starts at 5.30 pm, from the ATLAS Café on the Raadhuisplein. The broadcast – which is presented by René Posthuma and Niels Dijkhuizen – includes trainer Dick Lukkien, chairman Ronald Lubbers and mayor Eric van Oosterhout.
