Honorary mayor of Wervik Johnny Goos passed away

Goos started his local political career as an opposition councilor for BSP (later SP, later still sp.a). He became mayor of Wervik in 2000, and would remain so for 12 years. He was also a provincial councilor of West Flanders from 1987 to 1994.

The funeral ceremony will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the auditorium of the Crematorium View in Kortrijk.

The flags hang at half mast at the town hall on Sint Maartensplein.
