Honk Jan can honk everywhere again, because his microcar has been fixed

Honk Jan can’t believe his luck, his microcar has been fixed. At the beginning of this week someone had tried to steal the blue car from Jan van de Pas (39) from Boxtel. That failed, but the dashboard was heavily destroyed. On Thursday, Jan received good news: “Now I can drive around again and honk everywhere.”

On Wednesday, he was still shocked. “That car means a lot to me, thanks to that car I can go anywhere. Now I can’t do anything.”

“Now I am very happy, I can go everywhere again.”

You can’t go around the air horn of Toeter Jan Toeter. He honks at football matches. “I don’t know how to proceed now,” Jan said on Wednesday. “I can’t go to PSV, FC Eindhoven or Nemelaer right now. That hurts and sad. And carnival is in danger, then I always drive to Eindhoven with my horn.”

But a day later, Toeter Jan is already a lot happier. “They fixed my cart, it was returned this morning.” And that is a lot faster than expected. “I thought I would be without him for weeks. Now I am very happy, I go everywhere again.”

“I’m afraid they’ll give it another try.”

Jan’s blue car can immediately make a lot of kilometers. “First I go to the hairdresser and then I drive to the Efteling. Then I can lose my energy.” And this weekend he’s honking down the line again. “Otherwise none of this would have been possible. And during carnival I drive through the region to honk everywhere.”

Yet the joy of Toeter Jan is overshadowed by fear. “I am afraid that they will try again, I do feel that fear. I look outside all day. You are extra alert, even for other people’s things.”
