Homegrown Longstaff extended at Newcastle United

contract expired

Sean Longstaff will stay with Newcastle United beyond the summer. The 24-year-old midfielder’s expiring contract has been extended by three years with the “Magpies”. The nouveau riche Premier League club announced this on Wednesday afternoon. Longstaff was trained at Newcastle and was promoted to the professionals at the beginning of 2019 – so far the right footer, who is under the supervision of heavyweight consultant Pini Zahavi, has made 95 competitive games, five goals and just as many assists.

“I’m so happy. Signing for three more years with his hometown club – especially considering how the club is developing and what the owners are putting together – is very special for me and my family and a day I will never forget.” said Longstaff.
