Second best scorer in the 3rd division
Holstein Kiel reinforces the offensive with Ba-Muaka Simakala. The 26-year-old comes on a free transfer from second division promoted VfL Osnabrück and has a contract until 2025 with an option for another season. The two-footed attacker ended the past season with 19 goals and nine assists in 37 games as the second-best scorer in the 3rd division behind Ahmet Arslan, who was loaned to Dresden by Kiel (34 goals). Since the start of the season, Simakala has increased its market value from 275,000 to 500,000 euros.
“With Ba-Muaka Simakala we are gaining a creative player who is good at finishing shots, who can be used variably on offense and is a very good set piece shooter. With 19 goals scored and nine goal preparations, he is one of the top scorers in the 3rd division. We are convinced that Ba-Muaka, with its qualities, fits in very well with our game idea,” said Managing Director Uwe Stöver.
Simakala added: “Kiel is a strong and attacking team, where my strengths really come into play. I am very happy to be part of this club. My goal is to settle in and integrate quickly. I want to contribute my qualities right from the start in order to fill Marcel Rapp’s game idea with life.”
Mühling returns to SV Sandhausen from Holstein Kiel
After seven years in Kiel, Alexander Mühling is now returning to his former club SV Sandhausen, which he left for KSV on a free transfer in 2016. The 30-year-old played 238 games for the “Storks”, in which he contributed 44 goals and 31 assists. The expiring contract in Kiel was not extended.
“Alex knows the club and the region very well. Since he left SVS, he’s been able to develop really well and will bring us forward accordingly,” said sporting director Matthias Imhof. Mühling added: “I’m happy to have found my way back to the Electoral Palatinate. Those responsible gave me the credible impression that something should be created in the Hardtwald – and I’m happy to be able to be a part of it from now on.”
