On November 10th, a live recording of Jimi Hendrix’s Hollywood Bowl performance from the summer of 1967 will be released. For the first time, fans can acoustically relive the gig with “Jimi Hendrix Experience: Hollywood Bowl August 18, 1967”, with which the Experience had already taken place before her big breakthrough convinced an audience of 17,000 people.
The musicians have already made a name for themselves with a ten-month tour of Great Britain and continental Europe. But it was this show that brought the Jimi Hendrix Experience into the spotlight in North America. As a support act for The Mamas and The Papas, they played songs such as “Purple Haze” and “The Wind Cries Mary”, as well as the then unreleased track “Foxy Lady”.
The recording will be released as a CD and also as a 150g record, with enclosed liner notes, unpublished photos and backstage footage.
