Hurdle world champion Grant Holloway has improved his own world record over the 60m distance.
The 26-year-old American crossed the finish line after 7.27 seconds in the preliminary heat at the US Indoor Championships in Albuquerque/New Mexico and remained two hundredths below his record from February 2021.
Holloway has already won World Championship gold three times and Olympic silver in Tokyo in the 110 meters.
A short time later, Holloway’s compatriot Tia Jones set the women’s world record, which was only a few days old.
The 23-year-old former junior world champion ran the 60 meters in 7.67 seconds and was just as fast as Devynne Charlton (Bahamas) at the Millrose Games in New York last Sunday.
