Holland’s Got Talent cautiously started: ‘RTL counted on million’

The completely renewed Holland’s Got Talent started last night below the limit of one million viewers. “RTL 4 would have liked to touch the million mark.”

RTL 4 will enter the TV season without The Voice of Holland on Friday evening. Last night, on the former Voice Friday, the channel launched a completely renewed Holland’s Got Talent with, among others, Marc-Marie Huijbregts in the jury. It yielded 968 thousand viewers (21 percent market share). A good score, but not eye-catching.

under million

Holland’s Got Talent did not win against Flikken Rotterdam, which reached 1.1 million viewers (24 percent) and Astrid Joosten only attracted slightly fewer viewers with her TV classic Twee voor Twaalf. 952 thousand people (20 percent) watched it.

It will disappoint RTL 4 after all, thinks viewing figure authority Tina Nijkamp. “I think RTL is satisfied, but given the very large promotional campaign, they would have loved to tap that million and would have wanted to be number one in the top 25.”

Nice score Jinek

After Holland’s Got Talent, Eva Jinek’s talk show still managed to entertain 796 thousand viewers (23 percent), while the competing talk shows Op1 and Today Inside had 625 thousand (18 percent) and 715 thousand (16 percent) respectively. “Jinek suits its first week well as the most-watched late-night talk show,” said Tina.

RTL Boulevard reporter Joost Maiburg has listed the scores of the late talk shows:

Khalid & Sophie

It is also striking that the evening talk show Khalid & Sophie did well above average with 519 thousand viewers (18 percent). How about that according to Tina? She points to subjects ‘accessible to the viewer’ such as Serena Williams and Suzan & Freek, and to Paul de Leeuw as part of the ‘duo of service’.

“It proves how important it is to be close to the viewer. Now a slightly better line-up and the viewing figures will probably increase further.”
