The anticipation of many Berlin families for the summer holidays is limited. Although there is a desire to fly despite the chaos, many cannot afford it.

Parents are forced to send their children to a holiday camp alone or have to spend the holidays in Berlin. Understandable, because a trip for a family of four currently costs up to 5,000 euros.

Even higher prices are forecast for next year and it will once again hit middle- and low-income families.

The state must relieve these families. Travel vouchers or discounts, such as those already issued in Poland, are worth considering.

Because all families should have the opportunity to travel, to switch off, to discover new places and cultures. For many it is a basic need. Holidays shouldn’t be a luxury.
