TO Jesolothe Venetian capital of entertainment, every evening in summer there is a party in the squares. This year the sand is the protagonist, not only in beach life. We have fun with little ones beach volleyball tournaments, with dances in the bathing establishments or by participating in Random. A Random Party (July 30th on the Faro beach) dressed in unlikely combinations. By the sea there are also yoga classes and poetry recitals at dawn every Friday (until August 26).
For lovers of mythology, until 25 September in the square Brescia, there are the monumental ones sand sculptures dedicated to Zeus and Poseidon (jesolo.it). On August 6 we return to the Faro beach for the DJ Superstar evening. Charming nights at the Hotel Casa Bianca al Mare (hotelcasabianca.com), historic residence in Jesolo Lido, and at the Almar Jesolo Resort, 5-star beachfront (almarjesolo.com). The extra idea? With an hour by bus from Jesolo go to Veniceto visit the Biennale Arte with more than 1400 works exhibited between the Arsenale and the Pavilions of the Giardini.
Also in Veneto, the Regional Park of the Euganean Hills (parcocollieuganei.com), with its reliefs with geometries created by volcanic phenomena over 40 million years ago, can be explored by following a dense network of paths, thematic paths and routes for bikers, or by visiting villages, villas, fortresses and abbeys. In Abano Terme, in the first Italian medical hotel, the Ermitage Medical Hotel (medicalhotel.it), you can do a check-up in a weekend, combining prevention, spa and vacation. At 12 kilometers from Abano there is Padua, with the unmissable Scrovegni Chapel custodian of Giotto’s famous masterpiece: a pictorial cycle where, in addition to the first examples of perspective, the first kiss in the history of art is represented. Also worth seeing is the Palazzo della Ragione, the ancient seat of the city courts, with the great hall – 82 meters long and 27 wide – surmounted by the roof in the shape of an overturned ship hull (padovacultura.padovanet.it).
South Tyrol last minute
South Tyrol is always a great idea for last minute getaways. In Bolzano, summer is dance, from 13 to 19 July (bolzanodanza.it), and music (bolzanofestivalbozen.eu). Not far from the city, you can take part in night excursions in Val d’Ega to understand how a star is formed, why it shines and how a star dies (eggental.com) or at the Milk Festival, in Val Sarentino, two days (30 and 31 July) of fun and curiosity about the white gold of South Tyrol (altoadigelatte.com). Ideal activities to accompany a detox weekend in Montagna (Bolzano) at the Manna Resort (mannaresort.it), not only to lose weight but also to eliminate toxins and purify the body.
Marche, where the beach gives a show
All life on the beaches of Pesaro and Urbino, in the Marche region, where the summer is colored with dances, musical performances with the Rossini Opera festival (rossinioperafestival.it). Evocative evenings with Candles under the stars on 10 August, and mid-August concerts, such as that of Matthew Lee, charismatic performer and composer (turismo.marche.it). Do not miss a walk along the northern coast of the Marche, in Natural Park of Monte San Bartolo, with the walls of the mountains overlooking the blue of the sea. Another region, another beach
In Marina di Ugento, in the extreme tip of Salentobetween Gallipoli and Santa Maria di Leuca, in Puglia, you will stay at the elegant Vivosa Apulia Resort (vivosaresort.com), in the pine forest a few steps from the beach.
