Noon only sea for summer holidays: if you want a different experience this year than the beach, there is an alternative and it is equally tempting: the lake. There are many in Italy, but the most beautiful ones have been chosen and included in the Guide of Legambiente and the Italian Touring Club which awarded the flag of the Five Sails 12 municipalities on the lakes, distributed in 6 regions.
Holidays at the lake this year
This is not a ranking, but rather a sort of geographical mapping that photographs the excellence of both the Italian seas and lakes. And as for seaside resorts, the quality of the reception facilities and their inclusion in the territorial ecosystem, the weight of tourist flows, the standards of accessibility, the of mobility offered to tourists and the care of the historical and artistic heritage of the area.
Abruzzo the new entry, Trento and Bolzano the most awarded by Legambiente
And if the new enters this year is Abruzzo with Scanno (Aq), on the lake of the same namethe autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano traditionally confirmed as the most awarded: 4 locations including the municipality of Molveno (Tn), an outpost of a slow revolution, which has set itself the goal of rethinking the tourism development strategies of the area by implementing a study for identify the “right number” of attendance that ensures the balance between those who live in the country, those who visit it and the environment. Among the other lakeside resorts that have obtained the highest recognition in Trentino there is also Ledro (Tn) on the homonymous lake; in South Tyrol there are Fiè allo Sciliar (Bz) on the lake of Fie’, Appiano on the wine route (Bz) on Lake Monticolo.

Veneto and Tuscany are also on the list
Awarded 2 locations for the Veneto: Alpago (Bl) on Lake Santa Croce e sigh it (Bl) on the Mis lake; in Tuscany confirmed the Cinque Vele a Maritime mass (Gr) on the Accesa lake. Further confirmation compared to last year in two Piedmontese locations: Avigliana (To) on the homonymous lake e Cannero Riviera (Vb) on Lake Maggiore.
Five Sails of Legambiente also to Lombardy
For Lombardy, they are confirmed as the best locations Toscolano Maderno (Bs) e Gardone Riviera (Bs), both on the western shore of Lake Garda. The ceremony for the delivery of the Cinque Vele to the municipalities of the lakes was held in this last location, within a conference organized for the presentation and signature to the local administrators of the Lake carda document born within the project LIFE Blue Lakes to counteract the presence of microplastics in lakes and of which Legambiente is the coordinator.
